Tailgater!
This morning in IN 80-94 WB, one these jerks was so close up on a small car, that the car basically disappeared making it look like this semis tractor had flood lights on it! There were 3 other lanes open!!! This uncallex for!!!
R172019Z was all I could write on my hand of the trailers number because he flew past me!
A Joke?
My 74 year old husband was just hired by SRT as a truck driver. He has absolutely no OTR experience, having attended a driving school nearly one year ago.
All previous attempts at driving over the past year resulted in him being fired due to his poor driving skills. He is nearly deaf and does not know how to use a GPS properly. Not sure how he passed his DOT physical with many health conditions including high blood pressure, gout, arthritis, shoulder replacement, abdominal aortic aneurysm, morbidly obese with BMI over 50. He was totally and permanently disabled in 1993 by Social Security due to a back condition.
Yet, he is employed now with SRT! I guess that says it all about SRT!

Worse company i ever worked for. By the time your done with orientation you owe them money.
You have to pay for things like ez pass, seal protector, dot books. You never get home on time. Its like pulling teeth to get anything fixed. Disbatch is a joke.
You are fully forced disbatch. Watch your miles to get fuel in there network. They will charge you for miles to get fuel. They will lie right to your face.
When you leave they tell other companies you were a safty risk. Ive seen it happen to several drivers. You will spend days in a parking lot around holidays cuz the appt they give you dont exsist. Forget about getting to a truck stop they will charge you miles for it.
You have to babysit your pay to make sure your getting paid right. They talk a great game but soon as you get out on the road bend over they are and will *** over
THINKING ABOUT SRT...RUN AWAY FAST FROM SRT
If anyone has heard the story about the trucker who dies inside his truck which is parked at a flying j, the guy was there for 2 weeks before the company sent someone to check on him, meanwhile the family is frantically calling the company complaining about how he hasn't called us, he usually calls at least once a day, something must be wrong, then upon finding the guy, bringing his remains and the truck back to the company, this multi-million dollar trucking company wants to charge the family to ship the body home...that company was SRT!
I quit working for them in January of 2013 right around New Year's Day or after, this incident with the dead trucker happened about 2 weeks after I quit. And the reason why I quit was, the company will occasionally talk to you like you're a slave instead of an employee.
My first dispatcher was a guy named Treston or something like that, what an ***. I would frequently catch him trying to give me routes he knew were f%$@ up like a route from Dallas, Texas to Walmart Distribution Center in Casa Grande, Az.
This route told me to take I-10 to Quartzsite, Az. which is almost to the California border, then back east on US-60 and when I saw go west to go east, I knew something wasn't right and when I told the dispatcher, he was like telling me to just go on what was given to me. When I insisted he look at the route, he finally did and noticed the mistake. Now I don't mind having a younger than me dispatcher but not one still wet behind the ears like he obviously was.
When I kept complaining he just gave me to another dispatcher, this one was much better until the night dispatch crew screwed me up more than once, weighing loads and not accounting for the weight of the reefer, all kinds of *** stuff. When the night crew called me on the phone, while I was on an agreed with my dispatcher 34 hour restart, complaining about some load I didn't pickup because I was short on hours. She said something like she'd tell "the powers that be" that I turned down a load. I hung up on her, went to the qualcomm and sent her messages about our phone conversation and the things she said. When she responded, the load was unassigned from me like they should have done at first. Any conversations made on the qualcomm generate records which can be opened later, that's why she unassigned me from the load instead of making more nasty comments
First 90 days, mandatory per-diem (or their version of it), if you plan on doing a lease-purchase, your truck will have close to 500,000 miles on it (new trucks go to company drivers).
The only really good thing about the terminal is ordering food from JD's Rib Shack which the nice lady will deliver right to your parked truck if you tell her how to find you. I forgot her name but I still got her business card around here someplace.

Very unsafe driving. Does not slow for yeild signs and driving way to fast for turns.
Southern Refrigerated Transport - Vehicle Driver Review from Columbia, Maryland
Unsafe driving practices. Pictured truck with the license plate 55818T was caught swerving from lane to lane while going up a steep incline in Covington, KY.
Trucker almost ran the red pickup truck (seen in picture) off the road. The truck driver weaved wrecklessly in front of our car 5 times while blowing his horn.
Lack of customer support
Contacted SRT and requested a quote for their services, The service was picking up freight in their home state of Arkansas and delivering to 5 different locations in Texas. There would be a minimum of 5 truckload per week which would probably end up at 10 - 15 truckloads.
Their response was that just didn't think it was worth it. Perhaps their financial position is strong enough to not consider this business.
We have removed this company from our carrier list and will spread the word regarding their business practices. They were slow to respond and most likely did not want to be bothered with this contract.

Drove for SRT for about 1 year. Had accident in Bronx, New York.
Safety manager said I was terminated that I needed to get personal property out of truck that a wrecker was on the way to pick up the truck. Manager told me any property that I couldn't take with me I could pick up within 30 days after it was delivered to the yard. I was told that they would inform me when my property was returned to the yard.
Just talked with the driver who was assigned to the truck. He proceeded to tell me that he was told to find nearest dumpster and throw away what was left in the truck.

Unsafe Driver
I was pulling out of my driveway and this tractor-trailer goes by. I'm thinking, "why is there a cmv on a residential roadway?" he must have gotten detoured, went down my street, had to make a very-close-quarter turn at the end, then finally down another residential street to get back to the main route.
he's lucky I didn't call the cops. maybe he needs to invest in a commercial gps.
I looked up their safety scores, and they appear to be pretty low, but if you were to scroll down, the list of violations is quite extensive. quite frankly, this seems to be a very unsafe company when it comes to "qualified" drivers.
- Unsafe driving practice
Preferred solution: reprimand the driver
